Will Rash, our managing director, happened to be Polzeath, Cornwall last week when a bluefin tuna, was spotted off the coast by local surf school Wavehunters.
The Bluefin tuna – AKA Northern bluefin tuna, giant bluefin tuna [for individuals exceeding 150 kg], and also the fish formerly known as the tunny – is a species of tuna in the family Scombridae. They are usually native to both the western and eastern Atlantic Ocean, but they’ve obviously now added North Cornwall to their list. We’re not sure of the reasons behind their Cornish sighting, but it’s always wonderful to see such impressive fish around the coast of the British Isles.
